NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Partial Tax Exemption Real Property Tax Law Section 466-a

 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Danby Fire District will hold a Public Hearing on the proposition of whether the Danby Fire District, located in the town of Danby, county of Tompkins should adopt a resolution providing for partial exemption from fire district taxes, to the extent of 10% of the assessed value of the property for eligible enrolled members of an incorporated volunteer fire company, fire department or incorporated voluntary ambulance service or such eligible enrolled member and spouse residing within the Danby Fire District, a partial tax exemption from fire district taxes, to the extent of 10% of the assessed value of the property pursuant to Section 466-a of the Real Property Tax Law and as otherwise provided for in such law.

 NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN, to be eligible for such partial tax exemption, certain other requirements must be met before the town assessor can allow such exemption as are set forth in Section 466-a of the Real Property Tax Law.

Said Public Hearing will be held on February 28, at 7:00 p.m. at Danby Fire District Fire Station, 1780 Danby Road, Ithaca, New York 14850, at which time all interested persons shall be heard concerning the same.

A copy of Real Property Tax Law Section 466-a is available for inspection at the office of the Danby Fire District Secretary at 1780 Danby Road, Ithaca, New York 14850 where it may be inspected by any interested person during office hours.
